Golden Anniversary Celebration

Today is a momentous day. I have just had to be reminded that today is going to be my 50th Anniversary here on Hub Pages. No not 50 Years would make it a Golden Wedding Anniversary, 50 hubs. I never would have thought when I started just 4 months ago that I would have 5 articles in me let alone 50.

This 50th Golden Hub I have to dedicate to a fellow Hubber Ardie Paul as she reminded me when I read her 50th Hub just a few minutes ago.

She reminded me what an important milestone this is. Hell bent on doing other things and trying to duck and dive my way through this chaotic life that I forgot I was teetering on the edge of my 50th. Oh and I am not yet that far advanced in years, but am getting there quicker than I would like. Anyway I digress. Please read Ardie's 50th Hub and you will see why I was shamed into action on this last, cold and damp British December day. Yes it is New Year's eve as I write this. A fitting end to what has been one of my toughest year's yet. 2012 has got to be a turning point I feel as this Internet journey of mine begins to gather pace.

When I checked my e-mail's this morning I realised that a number of comments had been left by some fellow hubbers. Nothing odd there you might think. It's just that one particular commenter I could really relate to. You see to be successful at something I believe that you should surround yourself with like minded people. That way they are unlikely to steal your dreams like friends and family on the outside looking in.

We all need a kindred spirit who can spur us on in tough times and the good times. To help us keep focused on our dreams and goals and aspirations.Someone who is going through the same battle as you. Even better still if they have gone through it and have come out the other side.

I am hoping that from this Hub I can connect with my future mentor in order that I can reach the goal I have set for 10.000 page views. I am in the process of achieving 5000 views as my current goal. This will have taken me around 5 months. You may well say that keep doing what you are doing and you will reach 10.000 in another 5 months. Not an option I need to get this thing rocking and rolling.

You see when I first started, momentum gathered quite quickly in the first 6 to 8 weeks, then slowly took on a rather more sedate pace and I have not been able to gather the pace I would like since.

Examining and analysing my efforts has just made me too critical and I think it has slowed me down. I like things to be right before I publish an article now. On first starting I just wanted to get the stuff out there. Perfection has been what I have been trying to achieve lately.

It is never going to happen if I work this way. So the 50th hub has been written at pace just like the early ones. Come on get the thing published and out there for people to read. With mind and fingers working at 100 miles an hour I am cooking on gas.

Hang on.....the little voice is chirping up again.

No I think...keep writing. 50th hub you need to get to 100 in a quicker time than you got to 50.

''I don't think so, you haven't got it in you, quitter.never finish anything you start. talk a good job.all mouth and no action.gonna do this and gonna do that''

Right that has done it now.

Let the readers decide. Momentum will gather on it's own when the page views increase. Increase in views, more action from poshcoffeeco = confidence = effort = commitment.

This is my view on it. You may think differently and no doubt let me know.

If nothing else this 50th Hub has kicked me in the backside and brought me down to earth with a bump.

I hope it is fate that has brought me to this point on HP and that the events of this New Year's Eve will be a catalyst for the future of my article writing to become more successful.

The mentor I seek to guide me I hope has appeared if only they are willing to guide me.

This must be the point where I am ready to be taught. Ardie are you up for the challenge?

I believe your style of writing and the way you express in your writing is similar to mine.

Sad I know but to get ahead and keep focused it always seems that I work better under a bit of pressure and need to be bossed around to achieve my goals. We all need people to bounce ideas around with and to check in with from time to time if nothing else but to keep it real and get a reality check.

You wouldn't think it, but I am lacking focus and at the moment. Unsure if this is the place to achieve my goals? Maybe you have or are thinking the same right now. Let me know and if I can help in any way I would be only too pleased. Maybe there is room for a group of us to be set up, a sort of FOCUS appreciation society if you like or maybe we just need to help enough other people to get what we want. I think this might be the key. Help others first, then your success will follow.It must be a law of nature.

I also think that if you don't ask in this life, you never get. So there you have it. The end of the 50th Hub. I don't know if it is any good. At this very moment I am not unduly worried. Maybe this will be the new me for 2012. Let the readers decide I think may well be the shout for the year.
