24th January Facebook announcement.

On the 24th January Facebook announced that it will start rolling out it's Timeline product to all users. If you haven't already got Timeline installed and you want to do it early then follow the video instructions in this article.

Don't worry about having Timeline because like all things you can adjust it to suit your tastes. I have heard some people complaining about being forced to have the Timeline and that their security may get compromised as a result of this compulsory change. It is total rot, because you don't have to have anything on your Timeline that you don't want. All you need to do once it is activated is start working your way through it in order to delete any posts from long ago which you may feel don't reflect your thinking now. Please don't be embarrassed about anything you may have posted in your earlier FB days. You have the control to be able to remove it. Remember that.

Now I have only been using FB for a short while and I activated my Timeline as soon as I heard and saw about it from an old work colleague I had hooked up with. I was so impressed with it that I went straight ahead and wrote an article about it on another site I was using. If you would like to read this earlier article then feel free to click the link http://wizzley.com/time-line-facebook-love-it-or-loath-it/

TIMELINE IS ON IT'S WAY AND YOU WILL HAVE TO USE IT WITH FACEBOOK PERIOD.

Zoom page to see icons.

If you would like to see the photo above in a larger view and you are using Internet Explorer look in the top right hand corner of your browser and you will see a spanner icon (wrench). Simply click on the icon and it will give you the option to ZOOM the size of the page you are viewing. Re-size it until you have a clearer view by using the drop down box. This works for all web pages. Not only do you get great articles here, you also get free training. What more could anybody want?

Learn How To Set Up Timeline Now.

To set up your Timeline now there are step by step videos below for you to do this with the minimum of fuss. Enjoy the Facebook Timeline experience, unfortunately to use Facebook you will need to have Timeline. Your news feed is still in the old mode but when friends view your page it will be your Timeline that they see. Believe me when I say that it is very professional looking and will enhance the look of you Facebook page.

Change happens all the way through our lives, nobody likes change but things do change for a reason. Things change because better technology is being developed all the time. Yes companies do often do things which will benefit themselves, but in this case you get a great site in return for a little inconvenience.

I think you are right about the all the hype about the timeline forcing you to loose your privacy, it seems more 'much ado about nothing.' Facebook must have to keep changing their format due to fear of getting stale and to justify their purpose instead of just leaving a good thing alone. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the tips. I'm dreading the change. (Of course I'd still be using Windows 95 if they didn't make me upgrade.)

FYI - you can also zoom in and out on Mozilla Firefox by using "Control and +" to zoom in, or "Control and -"

kcsummers, thanks for your input. I am sure other readers will pick this up when reading your comments. You have gotta move with the times even if they drag you screaming, right?

I think that Tracey is right. I don't have the energy to keep up with all of Facebook's endless chances and will wait until I'm forced to switch to learn the Timeline. However, I don't think that it's compromising security anymore than Facebook currently does.

I changed over to Timeline almost right away because I didnt realize we could never change back even if it wasnt a forced move!!!! Drats - because I really dont care for it. It makes my posts looks sloppy and crowded and I have to make all my posts private so complete strangers cant see all my activity and comments.

I despise the timeline, when this happens I may just leave FB.

You all have your own views and opinions on this. Personally I love it, but I had never used FB much before I set up my Timeline. Whatever happens I hope you all stick with it and use it as a tool to further your passion for writing.

As ever thanks for all of your wonderful comments. You are all diamonds to me. Keep shining!AND SHARING!

I love my TimeLine. What I especially love is the fact that one can no longer 'spy on me' by following my activities - the comments I've made on the status updates of others and the messages I have posted on their walls/timelines. People can but only see what I've made visible on my Timeline, and, of course, they can see what I've done when they accidentally see where I've done it, as well as in the ticker.

Not that I mind. The one who has something to hide, or is obsessed with his/her privacy, should not post anything in Facebook or elsewhere, or at least not what he/she does not want others to know.

Voted up and inspiring!

MartieC, at last I have found someone who likes Timeline as much as I do. It seems we are in the minority at the moment. Thanks for visiting, following, voting and commenting!
